HAPPY BIRTHDAY PEYTON!!!

Okay, so I'm a couple days late getting this posted......eek!

Peyton turned 7 (!!!!) on Thursday! He had a great day -- started off with a scavenger hunt of sorts for his present from us...........then on to the busy day. We had originally planned to have his birthday party that day, but there was simply too much going on, so we moved it to Friday. Thursday Jazlyn had preschool, then block dance lessons at the high school, and Peyton had Exploring 4H. After all that was done, we came home and had supper (meatballs and mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes - an Imhof dish that he LOVES!!!) and then went to Mom and Dad's to see all the goodies Mom brought back from California. She brought back some flashing "ice cubes", goggles for Peyton, a little finger stamping kit for Jazlyn, and lots of other goodies. They always love to see what she's found!

Yesterday the party went well. A couple wrenches thrown into what we had planned, but it all went fine despite it all. Peyton had a great time with his friends, and loves his gifts (and you can bet the gift card is burning a hole in his pocket!)It was a bug/gardening themed party.......

They had dirt cake with gummy worms in pots for dessert, play bugs were scattered on the table.........

We had games planned, but with the wrenches thrown in, they just played out side, with each other and the new toys.
Their party favors were these cute little kits we found at walmart that have some dehydrated soil, flower seeds, and a tiny terracotta pot. You can see them at each place setting as well.

He'll have his family birthday party (along with his new cousin Lexi's) on the 19th so everyone can be here for his party as well as Jazlyn's recital.

Tomorrow is Jazlyn's recital rehearsal, and I hope to grab lots of good pics of that!

It's been a very stressful week, and we're all pooped.........hoping to get some relaxing done the next couple days........
