And again!
Here we are, another week has passed without an update! Is this a sign of things to come?!?!?!
Here's what's gone on here in the last week.........
Last Wednesday we enrolled Peyton in school........hilarious how things have changed!!!! Did you know kids now have to have an initial physical in order to attend school? That leaving a kid out (while I don't agree with this, and hope my child is not involved with it) is grounds for punishment, and considered bullying? Crazy!!! Anyway, it's done........we're still getting all of the documents straight to get Peyton set up to carry his inhaler with him, and so that they will change his diet to exclude eggs (in whole form, deviled eggs, custards, etc). We have an open house (aka meet and greet) on Monday to meet his teacher, take his school supplies, etc., then the first day of school is on Wednesday. We've requested a good friend to be his teacher this year, hopefully that will ease us ALL into the new arrangements!
Thursday was spent getting stuff around for the Relay for Life which was held on Fri/Sat (7pm - 7 am). Jazlyn and I were both on the Right Combination Dance Studio team, called "Daytona Dancers".

It was so awesome because Grandpa happened to be in town to go with Dad to an auction the next day, so we were able to register him with the survivors:
It was so special to have him there with us! Quite emotional as well. He was diagnosed 10 years ago, but it was always a subject we never seemed to talk about much. After Grandpa walked the survivors lap, released balloons, and we watched the opening ceremonies, we were able to sit and eat supper with him. It was really touching to hear him talk about his fears while he was going through treatment, and how it was relieving but scary at the same time when the doctor told him he didn't have to come back for 5 years for a check-up. We talked about man other things too, and this is a memory of him I will treasure forever. Very neat to get to walk with someone that we were walking for.
After we ate it was time for the luminary service, and he was able to light some candles with us -- for himself, as well as many relatives who have passed because of cancer. I hope he had a good time.........I know we did!
Jazlyn and I stayed until about 1:30 am.......Jazlyn's tummy wasn't feeling well, and I knew I needed to be able to function the next day.
Sherman County Relay for Life raised over $43,000 - there were 1700 luminaries alone!
We finally found Brylie a bath seat of sorts, so she's been enjoying having a little more room to move and splash in the tub!
The weekend brought pretty traditional happenings........mostly recovery on Saturday, church on Sunday. Monday we spent some time making salsa since we FINALLY got some ripe tomatoes!!! YUMMY YUMMY!!! Tuesday Peyton had piano lessons, and today we've just kinda hung out! Peyton's 4H record book is due on Friday, so we'll be working on that tomorrow, and Mike changes shifts again this weekend (PRAISE THE LORD!!!) so we'll be back to evenings, and off of overnights! YEAH!!! hehe.........Guess that's the jist of it........will *try* to update better this next week!
